Change the World
Teens at camp write how they will change the world.

National Teen Leadership Program is seeking a volunteer on-site nurse for our 3 day leadership camp in southern California, at Chapman University, July 6-8.

For 26 years, since 1992, the National Teen Leadership Program has lead by its motto - developing the leader within every teen today -- for a better world tomorrow! Over 17,000 teens have come to our program from across the US and parts of the world. We deliver an amazing positive environment during our 3-day leadership camps with small group sessions working on team building (led by adult alumni of our program), motivational speakers, workshops, ROPES course, a dance, and an awards ceremony celebrating our teens, while providing these youth a glimpse of the college campus experience. We sincerely believe that given the right positive environment, openness, and encouragement, every young person has the potential to boost their confidence and self esteem, realize their potential, and create positive change in their communities -- extending to the world around them. We support social and emotional skills development, character building, and overall leadership education in our high energy camps. We are also looking to develop our Traveling Workshop Series, Campshot (1-day snapshot of camp), and After school Program Modules. Though based in Sacramento, California, this year our 3-day camp is happening in southern California at Chapman University July 6-8, in Orange, CA.

NTLP is immediately seeking a volunteer licensed nurse who can be our on-site camp nurse for our 3 day program, and help us ensure the health and safety of the teens at our camp. Perks will be you are welcome to partake and see our three motivational speakers, interact with our phenomenal group of teens and alumni, and help us create a positive and welcoming environment, and have meals and lodging taken care of. Someone who also has social work experience with at-risk youth, or social work degree, mental health, or psychology background would be a plus in case there are mental health issues that arise in the teens, and need more support.

To apply, please take a look at our website, ntlp.org, and in a cover letter, describe in a paragraph your motivation to work with our non profit and our mission, and what highlighted skills you bring to the table. Please submit with a resume to: dhsu@ntlp.org.

Volunteer will be requested to do a background check since our work is with minors. You will be invited to participate in our staff retreat as well June 2 in NorCal or June 3 in SoCal.

Mission Statement

The National Teen Leadership Program is committed to creating positive environments that empower, inspire and educate ALL teens to discover and maximize their unique leadership potential and embrace the diversity and equal value of everyone. Vision: Developing the leader within every teen today -- for a better world tomorrow.

Description

Since 1992, the National Teen Leadership Program (NTLP) was founded on the belief that there is not a group of people on this planet with more dreams, more drive, more ambition and more potential than teenagers. We have listened to their dreams, celebrated their accomplishments, supported their ambitions and propelled them into action.

NTLP’s programs are designed to create globally minded, ethical leaders that respect and uphold the equal value of all humanity. This training transforms youth into capable leaders, motivated to affect positive social change in an increasingly diverse world.

We offer teens entering 8th - 12th grade our Flagship Summer Leadership Camp that occurs over 3 days at a college campus. We also host one day workshops as well as web series programs focusing on leadership, communications, and mental health.
