CFFP Logo

We are a small but passionate organization that seeks to raise awareness of religious child abuse and neglect. We are not an anti-religion organization but recognize that there is a serious and overlooked problem in which children can be harmed by adults who are following religious practices. Some examples include "faith healing" medical neglect, Bible-based physical abuse, and emotional terrorizing with religious messaging.

The CFFP is currently seeking volunteers to assist with web content management, primarily with migrating content from our current site to a completely redesigned site we're in the process of building. Both sites are built using WordPress, so familiarity with that package would be a huge plus (but if you have used any CMS you should be able to pick it up easily).

Minimally--and most urgently--we need someone with a basic familiarity with google sheets or excel to help us enter content resources into a spreadsheet and fill out some basic metadata on it.

Beyond that, the ideal candidate would also be able to help with placing content appropriately within the new site’s information architecture, identifying appropriate links into/out of each page, finding suitable imagery, and migrating/creating pages on the new site in wordpress. Familiarity with user experience design/information architecture design a huge bonus.

If you are interested in this position, please include a resume and a brief description of why you find our mission important.

We look forward to hearing from you!

About Child-Friendly Faith Project

Location:

P.O. Box 2135, Daytona Beach, FL 32115, US

Mission Statement

The Child-Friendly Faith Project is a national, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) public charity that raises awareness of religious child maltreatment or RCM. RCM is child abuse or neglect that is enabled by religious beliefs held by perpetrators, victims, or the surrounding community.

Description

We fulfill our mission by developing educational programs that benefit the general public, survivors, and faith communities. Our goal is to help people understand how to identify RCM and its risk factors and to recognize its negative impact on children. Our programs are designed to accomplish three key goals:

1. Educate the Public
We manage a website that is one of the most comprehensive in offering vital information on RCM. We also oversee social media outlets that allow the public to discuss and learn about this issue, and we give media interviews and slideshow presentations at notable events.

2. Support Survivors
We maintain a clearinghouse of resources to help survivors of RCM find reputable therapeutic programs, and we advocate on behalf of survivors seeking to communicate with religious institutions and organizations that have harmed them.

3. Partner with Faith Communities
We offer curricula to faith communities interested in learning more about RCM and how to protect children.
