PromiseShip staff started the Duffels 4 Dignity program so children being removed from their home would not have to carry their belongings in trash bags. Trash bags are for trash, not children's belongings. When children are moved out of a home, PromiseShip is able to provide them with a new duffel bag to keep and daily necessities to live comfortably during the transition.

PromiseShip is looking for help restocking our Duffels 4 Dignity supply. Hosting a drive for needed items is a great way to participate in the program. Things we are running low on or out of include new baby items for infant care packs (shampoo, powder, baby wash, lotion, wipes) and new large duffel bags (anything over 30" in length).

Mission Statement

PromiseShip tirelessly spans boundaries bringing powerful partners together to provide innovative solutions that transform life’s uncertainty into family wellbeing.

Description

At PromiseShip, everything we do is centered around families. We help families regain self-sufficiency, surrounding them with positive support and encouragement, to pursue a happier, healthier life. There’s no better way to strengthen our community than by helping families be families.

PromiseShip’s number one goal is to preserve the family so they can heal as a unit. If the family has been separated, we move towards family reunification. In cases where reunification is not possible, we help children find forever families. Through prevention services, we continue to work with families we’ve helped so they can stay strong and keep growing.
