Can you help students learn entry-level computer skills? Some examples are: how to write email addresses usernames, and passwords, search the internet and select the best results, use shortcuts, and edit their written work.

The teacher would give you direction. If you have ideas for teaching these skills, the teacher will also be happy to talk with you about them.

Volunteer one evening per week, M T W or Th, 7:30-9:00 pm.

Mission Statement

Help adults acquire the skills, and provide the support, to pursue education and employment goals.

Description

Minneapolis Adult Education provides free classes in ESL, reading, writing, math, basic computer skills, and transition to work and college. Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, and evening. We are part of Minneapolis Community Education, Minneapolis Public Schools.

Volunteers participate once an week, for an hour or more depending on the class. We ask for a commitment of 3 months. Service learning has a different minimum.
