Weekend hours differ from weekday hours. All volunteers must create an account at https://nbg.volunteerhub.com and register the volunteer event. Please refer to the calendar on VolunteerHub for specific times.

Norfolk Botanical Garden is looking for friendly, outgoing volunteers for our biggest nighttime event of the year, LanternAsia! Volunteers will help guests navigate the Garden for LanternAsia. Warm clothing advised.

Work will include:

  • Helping guests find their way to Baker Hall.
  • Greeting guests in Baker Hall.
  • Helping guests within the show.
  • Assisting staff direct exiting guests.

Dinner provided. If you have special dietary needs, please email volunteer@nbgs.org with your name, diet and when you are volunteering.

Upon arrival, enter Baker Hall through the main doors and check in at the Holly Room (opposite the visitor's service desk).

The mission of Norfolk Botanical Garden is to enrich life by promoting the enjoyment of plants and the environment through beautiful gardens and educational programs.

Description

We have opportunities for those who enjoy working out of doors, for those who enjoy working with children, and for those who enjoy administrative work air-conditioned comfort as well.

The Norfolk Botanical Garden is 155 acres of the most beautiful landscapes in Hampton Roads, Virginia, and our volunteers help maintain all of it. Our educational programs for children and adults are extrememly active. We have daily summer camps for children ages 5-10 from June to end of August, and daytime, evening, and weekend programs for adults and families. Master Gardeners explain the wonders of the Garden through our docent program. Garden Teacher Assitants assist our young campers with crafts, games, and learning experiences. And there are people working behind the scenes in administration making sure everything runs smoothly. Volunteers help with all of it!
