Brookdale Hospice is seeking Animal Companions to visit our hospice patients in the Colorado Springs area. As you know, a wagging tail can make all the difference in a patient's day. Must be a certified Animal Companion, have up-to-date shots and insurance-- and of course, must be able to handle their "licker." Animal Companion "parents" must complete a background check, drug screen and two-step TB Test; possess a current driver's license and proof of insurance.
Brookdale Hospice provides an individualized program of physical, emotional and practical care for each patient, with an emphasis on pain control and symptom management.

Our hospice volunteers make a tremendous and positive difference in the lives of hospice patients, their families, our staff-- everyone they meet. You are specifically trained to support the hospice patient in a variety of ways: sit with patients, play cards, play an instrument, sing, tell jokes, talk with families, provide spiritual care, or even sit vigil with an actively dying person. You can also help in our admin office, Our hospice volunteers provide incredible compassionate companionship to those facing terminal illness.
Description
We put the patient and family first, and recognize staff make a positive difference in their lives. Hospice Volunteers provide compassionate companionship in a variety of ways to hospice patients throughout the Colorado Springs area. Self-paced training and flexible scheduling. For Patient Safety: must pass a background check, drug screen, 2-step TB test. Possess a valid driver's license and current insurance (if you drive to patient's location).
