Volunteer with SuperKids Camp this Summer!

Note: We are keeping an eye on the current health crisis and making decisions as information is available. We are still planning for summer, but we're also planning virtual volunteer activities as a backup in case it is unsafe for our staff, volunteers, and campers to gather in person. Regardless, we will have volunteer opportunities available this summer!

Be a part of improving environmental literacy in Baltimore through Parks & People Foundation’s SuperKids Camp! During this exciting 6-week camp rising first through fifth graders work to improve their reading skills while doing a variety of fun activities throughout the city of Baltimore! There are several volunteer positions available including:

• Administrative Assistant: Volunteers provide support for registration, attendance monitoring and daily functions of the camp office. Good organization skills and attention to detail are required. Available dates: 6/15/20-8/14/20 (Monday-Friday)
• Counselor in Training: These volunteers assist with the daily running of camp and ensure that campers are learning playing and exploring. Available dates: 6/29/20-8/7/20 (Monday-Friday)
• Environmental Educator: Volunteers spend the summer in park settings instilling a love for the environment into the next generation of environmental stewards. An ideal volunteer for this opportunity has knowledge of or a strong desire to learn about environmental education. Available dates: 6/29/20- 7/31/20(only Monday-Thursday)

Volunteers must be 14 years or older and be available for 2 consecutive weeks of camp or for a consistent day throughout the summer (for example, every Monday and Tuesday). All volunteers 18 and older must undergo a background check. All volunteers must also attend one in-person volunteer orientation

• Saturday June 20th from 9 am-12 pm
• Tuesday June 23rd from 5-8 pm
• Tuesday July 11th from 5-8 pm

This is a great opportunity to gain service learning hours and provides great experience working with kids and in environmental education
