In the Arms of Oshun

In the Arms of Oshun is recruiting applicants to fill the officer position of treasurer and directors for our Board. We are currently seeking persons with financial, grant administration, law, urban development, fundraising, or real estate expertise. We are looking for persons with connections in the community as well as shelters. We are interested in advocates for the homeless and domestic violence survivors, as well as formerly homeless individuals. Additionally, we are looking for professionals in the fields of Mental Health Counseling, Vocational Training, Social Work, Life Coaching, Music/Art Therapy, Business, Health (exercise), and Creative Writing to provide supportive services to our clients.

Mission Statement

In the Arms of Oshun is a non profit organization with a mission to empower homeless women and children, and survivors of domestic violence through permanent supportive housing. We strive to provide affordable housing and serve the holistic person to enable tenants to become self-sufficient, and improve their social and economic status.

Description

Our supportive housing program offers immediate, permanent housing placement with on-site services as needed to stabilize the family and develop a network of resources. Our program includes ​ supportive services such as crisis intervention, vocational training, mental health counseling, parenting classes, budgeting and financial management classes, and life skills training.
