Description

Our farm is located on 24 acres situated on the grounds of the College Settlement of Philadlephia Camp amongst 235 acres of fields, forest, trails, streams and a three-acre lake. Established in 1889, the College Settlement has provided camping opportunities to economically needy children since 1922.

Now in our seventh growing season, we are currently cultivating 15 acres following best sustainable agriculture practices for growing organic vegetables, flowers, herbs and pasture-fed chicken, poultry and eggs. The farm provides food for over 400 families including low-income and homeless. No synthetic chemicals are used in the soil or on the crops.

As an education center, we offer summer internships, field trip programs, classroom presentations, farming experiences for families, speakers, and a summertime speaker series for adults. The farm offers volunteer opportunities for those who want to take part in the "hands-on" experience of "digging in" on a sustainable community farm. We also offer workshops to the community on topics such as chemical-free gardening, canning, edible weeds, medicinal herbs, and health-conscious family meal planning.
