This nursery task is "grading" bare root, 2-ft tree saplings. These young trees need to be hand sorted to remove unacceptable malformed trees. Acceptable trees are hand batched and prepared for shipping to Arbor Day events around NJ.
This volunteer position is great for groups of 3-5 persons and individuals.
Hands-on work is alongside our friendly nursery staff who supervises/trains. No special skills required. The job is inside a nursery warehouse that is kept cool so that outdoor clothing and foot ware is best. Bring snacks and lunch!
Work is Mon - Thu only and between 9a-12n (possibly w 1 hr flexibility)
This work is dirty, fun and good farm experience.
