Renaissance Dog

Georgia Heartland Humane Society operates an adoption booth at the Georgia Renaissance Festival Every weekend from April 13- June 2* ( covid permitting) and we need volunteers to show adoptable pets (cats & Dogs), take donations and sell raffle tickets. The shifts are 10:00-2:00 pm and 2:00 pm -6:30 pm * including Memorial Day

Mass Renewal of Vows Ceremony at 1:30 pm both days at Celebration Garden

Celebrate Romance Weekend by joining other couples in a mass renewal of vows ceremony conducted by the Festival’s Wedding Officiant. Register at the Information Booth inside the Front Gate before 1 pm to participate. Each couple will receive a Renewal of Vows Certificate.

A weekend of Cosplay and Costume Contests where Fantasy meets History and Superheroes meet Royalty!

MAY 11 & 12 - Pirates & Pets Weekend

Ahoy, you scallywags and sea dogs! This weekend, pirates of all ages will find treasure in our special contests, like the Pirate Costume Contest and Walk the Plank Trivia. It’s a weekend full of fun piratical hijinks!

Pet-Friendly Weekend - Bring your Dog or Cat on a leash. Enter the pet costume contest

MAY 18 & 19 - Wizarding Weekend

Didn't get an owl from that famous wizarding school? That's alright because we'll be celebrating all things magical this weekend with wizard-themed costume contests, magical events, and special "Butter Buzz" mead by Atlanta's own Monk's Mead!

MAY 25, 26, 27 - Memorial Day Weekend

Three Days to Play! The Festival is open Saturday, Sunday and Memorial Day Monday.

June 1 & 2 - Highland / Final Weekend

The Village of Newcastle welcomes the Scottish and Irish for our final weekend.

Bagpipes, drums and kilted dancers abound, plus special contests! Bring your whole clan!

Mission Statement

To work to end the suffering of dogs and cats resulting from abuse, neglect, ignorance and pet overpopulation. To advocate the humane treatment of animals through (1) rescue of abandoned, neglected, and abused animals; (2) a spay/neuter assistance program; (3) promoting community awareness through humane education and (4) initiation and support of positive changes in local community municipal codes and state law regarding animal protection . Many of the animals that become a part of our program would not survive without our help. We rescue injured animals that are unable to get the help they require to heal and we rescue abused animals that don't know comfort and kindness and love.

Description

Georgia Heartland Humane Society is a nonprofit agency which receives no government assistance. Our organization relies sole ly on the generosity of the public, striving to maintain its strong fundraising efforts within the community and with area businesses and corporations. We do not operate a shelter, but offer services to the residents of our community and their companion animals. Our volunteers are passionate in their belief that all pets deserve loving families and are working towards accomplishing that goal through community service programs.
