Volunteers at Brookdale Hospice provide the extra support that patients, and their family members, need during an emotionally filled time of transition, as the patient journeys on their final months, weeks and days.
We understand the love and benefits that a Pet Therapy team can bring to our patients/families.
If you are a flexible, tolerant, and compassionate person with a Pet Therapy certified canine or feline, please consider becoming a Brookdale Hospice Pet Therapy Volunteer to support patients, and their families, that are on our service.
Volunteers are not reimbursed monetarily for their service, but the smiles that they get from patients, and the appreciation they receive from grateful caregivers, tend to be very satisfying and the only reward most Volunteers want and cherish.
To get started as a Brookdale Hospice Volunteer, various health checks and background checks need to be completed, as does a Hospice Volunteer Training Program. More details are available by requesting an Introductory Packet. (As this Packet is printed, please provide a mailing address when replying to this post, so we can send it to you.)
