Sound the Alarm-Come install free smoke alarms to residents in Chinatown and Harlem

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Greater New York Region

Every day, seven people die in home fires-most often, in homes without working smoke alarms. But these devices can cut the risk of death by half. That’s why the American Red Cross launched the Home Fire Campaign to help prevent needless tragedies. Year-round through the campaign’s Sound the Alarm events, Red Cross volunteers and community partners go door-to-door in high-risk neighborhoods to install free smoke alarms and help families create home fire escape plans. To volunteer please use the link below and look for the events titled " STA New York City, NY (Harlem/Chinatown)

Volunteers are needed to install alarms, provide safety information and be documenters-all training is provided the day of the event! Youth are encouraged to attend-advanced registration is needed!
