Join the 2018 Brooklyn Walk to End Alzheimer's Volunteer Planning Committee! We are seeking committee members to help with team recruitment, team retention, sponsorship, logistics, and marketing and outreach leading up to our September 23rd Brooklyn Walk at Cadman Plaza Park.

Committee members will:

  • Be trained on the basics of Alzheimer's disease, learn about Alzheimer's Association programs and services, and be trained on our Walk to End Alzheimer's event model.
  • Participate in monthly committee meetings, to be held in Brooklyn or Manhattan.
  • Start or join their own Walk to End Alzheimer's team, help raise awareness and funds, and join us on Walk day to help create an exceptional day-of-event experience for our Brooklyn Walk participants.
We have volunteer opportunities to suit all skill sets and interests. The only requirement is a passion to join the fight against Alzheimer's disease!

If you're interested in learning more about our Walk Planning Committee, please contact Alex at alschoeneck@alz.org or 646-793-3524.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Alzheimer’s Association is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through brain health. Description

The Alzheimer's Association was founded in 1980 by a group of family caregivers and individuals who recognized the need for an organization that would unite caregivers, provide support to those facing Alzheimer's, and advance research into the disease.

Today the Alzheimer's Association reaches millions of people affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias. We are the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research. You can help advance our mission by volunteering for one of our signature fundraising events - the Walk to End Alzheimer's or The Longest Day.
