Use your knack for computers and technology to enrich life in your community as a weekly Computer Coach at the Milwaukee Public Library.

As a Computer Coach, you will provide vital support to adult learners needing assistance with accomplishing beginner to intermediate level computer tasks. Computer Coaches help individuals throughout our community improve their computer literacy abilities, an essential life skill in our increasingly modern world, by working one-on-one on a variety of tasks including creating online accounts, filling out online forms, email assistance, maneuvering websites and search engines, utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, handling tablets and smartphones, and printing, scanning and copying on MPL public printers and scanners.

WHERE:
Computer Coaches are needed at the following MPL Locations:
Atkinson, Capitol, Center Street, Martin Luther King, Villard Square, Washington Park, and Zablocki

WHEN:
Commitment: Weekly commitment of 2 consecutive hours
Flexible Schedule: Set your own hours based own your own personal availability
Peak Hours: Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm, Saturday 1:00 - 4:00pm

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Passionate about helping others.
- Enthusiasm for working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and abilities.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to help all individuals in a friendly, patient, respectful, and open-minded manner.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Chrome, FireFox, Internet Explorer, and PC Computers
- Experience with tablets and smartphones preferred.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Our Computer Coach program is a Drop-In program, meaning MPL will advertise to our Patrons when you will be in the library so they may drop-in for assistance as needed. There are no appointments and all learners will be assisted by the Computer Coach on a first come, first served basis.
