JuneteenthKC is actively searching for candidates whom are interested in COMMITTING there talents to support our annual initiatives and the development of the JuneteenthKC's Passport to Freedom Parade Event, June 2nd 2018!!

ALL candidates must be willing to accept and promote the mission, goals and objectives of JuneteenthKC.

*Posses professional expertise and influence needed by JuneteenthKC to pursue its objectives and/or represents one or more constituencies needed to provide balance to the Board’s membership.

*Demonstrates significant leadership capability in the community and is willing to provide that expertise to the operation of the Board and its committees.

*MUST be able to attend weekly/biweekly development meetings (usually 1-1 1/2 hours in duration)
-Conference Call In Line Available-

*MUST commit to an annual fundraising goal of $200 -members will be provided with opportunities to meet funding requirements

*MUST be able to attend AND WORK JuneteenthKC major events

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about JuneteenthKC’s mission to promote African American Culture ALL YEAR and who has a track record of board leadership.

Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector.

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

Professional experience with significant executive leadership accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector.

Savvy diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals.

Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of JuneteenthKC’s beneficiaries.

Candidates should also have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in one more of the following areas:

*Marketing & Public Relations
*Event Management
*Volunteer Recruitment/Management
*Corporate Sponsorships/Fundraising
*Concert/Performance Production

The mission of JuneteenthKC is to execute annual community ethnic enrichment activities and educational opportunities that positively promote African American heritage traditions centered around the Juneteenth Holiday themes that raise community awareness and inspire the facilitation of quarterly healthy socialization activities within the Urban Core of the Greater Kansas City area.

JuneteenthKC aims to develop community engagment activites throughout the calendar year that positively promote Africacn American Heritage in addition to providing safe healthy socialization activiites for diverse ages.
