CAMPUS WORK DAY: Mayor's Week of Service Benefiting Youth in Foster Care

Join us on Saturday, April 21st for one of the most impacting and FUN Mayor's Give-a-Day projects in Louisville! We will have teams of volunteers planting, mulching, cleaning, building, and repairing all over our residential campus! See below for specific projects All skill levels, ages, and group sizes welcome.

TWO SHIFTS EACH DAY: 9 am - noon, 1 pm - 4 pm. Please let us know which you would prefer...you are welcome to do both!

Supplies and lunch will be provided, but if you or your group would like to donate toward offsetting the cost, please let us know.

  1. Cottage Landscaping Team: Clean-up landscaping, remove brush, plant flowers & bushes, and mulch around all three cottages. Redesign statuary and rose garden landscaping and reinstall pavers.
  2. Fence-Clearing Team: Cut-down and remove brush along perimeter fencing.
  3. Power Washing & Creek Cleanup : Power wash sidewalks and buildings. Trash pickup along creek.
  4. Pasture Spring Prep Team: Reseed & fertilize the pasture for our equine therapy horses, lay crushed rock and pavers, perform light landscaping around the barn.
  5. Pasture Fence Repair Team: Remove and reinstall damaged fence panels.
  6. Barn Classroom Demolition Team: Remove furniture, remove & dispose of carpet, clean space (mopping, wiping walls, etc.)
Boys & Girls Haven, a 501c3 nonprofit, provides a home and a future for youth in foster care - specifically, we exist to shelter, heal, and teach young people to become healthy and productive members of our community through a variety of residential and community based programs.

Boys & Girls Haven was established in 1950 by Father James Maloney. Today we serve over 1000 young people each year across five core programs in Jefferson County and the Salt River Trail Region.
