Clean Ocean Access is excited to announce that we are a part of the 2018 Volvo Ocean Race Stopover in Newport, R.I. this May! We are an exhibitor in the One Ocean Exploration Zone, which is the educational area in the village. The OOEZ will host educational exhibits from about 25 other organizations around New England.
We are looking for volunteers to help staff our exhibit, which is going to showcase environmental artwork made by local students living on Aquidneck Island. The artwork focuses around three main themes: marine debris, the watershed and sustainability. Volunteers are asked to engage with the community and talk with them about these important issues if questions arise! We are really looking to start the conversation about the importance of ocean health, using the student environmental artwork as a platform to spark conversation.
Below are a list of volunteer opportunities -- if you are interested, please state which DATE and TIME you would like to signup. All volunteers must go through a brief background check (a requirement of the Volvo Ocean Race), all this information will be provided with signup.
All volunteers are invited to the Volunteer Appreciation Party at 7 p.m. on 5/20 at the Volvo Village!
