Forks and Corks Volunteer Opportunity

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Harvesters - The Community Food Network

Forks & Corks is Harvesters' largest single day event fundraiser. This fun event will feature some of Kansas City's finest cuisine and regional wines. You can help make this year's event a great success by signing up to volunteer.

Please note that all volunteers must be at least 21 years of age.

Volunteers will have two options for participating.

  • Option 1: We ask volunteers to work a 2 hour shift and to purchase a ticket to the event. Volunteers will receive a discounted ticket price; and, we promise that all volunteers will be able to enjoy a least half the event while not on duty. Once you are given an assignment, you will be asked to purchase your volunteer ticket in advance.

  • Option 2: Volunteer for the entire event. If you select this option, you will not need to purchase a ticket to the event. However, you will only receive a limited break to sample food.

Most volunteer shifts are during the event -- approximately 4:45-6:45PM, 6:00 - 7:45PM, or 7:30 - 9:15PM (depending on the activity).

We encourage people to volunteer with family and friends. We can ensure they are placed on the same "team" and can work together.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Event Stewards - Restock restaurant booths with napkins/plates/forks as needed; clear guest tables; notify staff to empty trash bins as needed.
  • Greeters - Welcome guests and volunteers as they enter the stadium; provide directions; create excitement
  • Guest Check-in - Provide wine glasses, trays, and wristbands to guests as they check-in
  • Volunteer Check-In - Check-In volunteers and handout nametags and aprons
  • Event Diplomat - Engage guests with various opportunities to learn more about and support the Harvesters mission. Includes stations such as Raffle Ticket Sales, Wine Pull, etc.
  • Hall Set-Up - Assist restaurants with transporting supplies between their vehicles and the venue and assist with preparing the hall (Daytime opportunity)

If you are interested in volunteering for this opportunity, please contact Community Engagement Coordinator, Rachel Ibok, at 816-929-3089 or ribok@harvesters.org.
