The K Street Farm is a ¾ acre demonstration farm in downtown Washington, DC used to educate community members about food access issues in our city and engage them as advocates for food justice. The farm is home to 5,000 square feet of growing space, honey bee hives, egg-laying chickens, a variety of fruit trees, and many perennial herbs and flowers.
We host volunteers at the farm from March to October each season. Our open volunteering hours for individual volunteers are Thursdays from 5-7 PM. Come ready to jump in and get dirty working on a variety of farm tasks! Contact maryalice@dcgreens.org for more information.
No previous experience is necessary, but volunteers should be prepared to spend extended periods of time outdoors and tasks may include bending and lifting 10-25 lbs at a time.
