We're looking for a few cat loving folks to join our volunteer team at the Timonium/Lutherville Petco. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone that loves being able to interact with the cats because this particular Petco is one of the only ones around with an actual play room for the animals!
The basics of our volunteer program are as follows - We have two shifts a day minimum, one in the morning and one in the evening each w/in 2 hrs of open or close respectively. Mon - Sat that would be between 9 am -11 am for open and 7:00 pm - 9:00 for close (though a little earlier at night is ok too), Sunday that would be between 10 am - 11:30 am for open and 5 pm - 6:30 pm for close. We also have a need for event support volunteers on Saturdays between 11 - 3.
Each shift involves tidying up the cubes, scooping the litter, freshening up the water, and filling the food bowls. And of course play time for the cats :) A shift takes approximately 1 hr depending on how much play time you spend with the cats. Though most of our volunteers spend longer, and we definitely encourage it! We ask that each volunteer pick a shift that they can commit to with some consistency. This allows us to ensure the cats are well taken care of and make things easier on all our volunteers so no one is left scrambling. That being said, we completely understand that our volunteers all have lives, jobs, families, and other responsibilities. Things will inevitably come up! We try to be flexible and have backup volunteers to cover in those situations.
If this is something that sounds like a fun way to spend a couple hrs, please reach out to us! We'd love to have you on our team, and the cats would greatly appreciate it!

Mission Statement
PAR strives to help the homeless and needy animals in Baltimore and the surrounding areas find the loving homes they deserve.
Description
It all started when three people saw a need and said "we want to help." We are a 100% volunteer based organization born out of the desire to make things better and the drive to make a difference in the lives of neglected animals. With over 15 years of rescue experience, the Directors of PAR strive to help the homeless and needy animals in Baltimore and the surrounding areas find the loving homes they deserve.
We have no public facility, but operate with a network of dedicated foster parents and volunteers, without whom we could never provide the love and attention our cats deserve. We partner with local Petco stores to house adoptable pets and hold events where you can visit even more of our wonderful animals! And soon we'll be in Baltimore's second cat cafe, Neko No, as well!
