DUTIES: This position will enhance emergency and disaster response for DOH-Lake. The Non-Licensed MRC Volunteer will participate in disaster response, training, exercises, and community outreach as needed. This may include working in Special Needs Shelters and caring for clients, providing medical countermeasures via Points of Dispensing (POD) operations, and other health and medical response activities.

LOCATION OF POSITION: Location will be based on the needs of the county during times of disaster.

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid driver’s license. Experience in medical field or any medical training preferred but not mandatory. Able to help in times of crisis, and can assist in different areas in sometimes high stress environments.

TRAINING: Background screening and training is required for all volunteers. RN volunteers will be trained on DOH services, policies, procedures, and on software to be utilized. Additional disaster preparedness training will also be required, including FEMA ICS 100 & 700.
