DUTIES: This position will enhance emergency and disaster response for DOH-Lake. The Medical Reserve Corp Volunteer will participate in disaster response, training, exercises, and community outreach as needed. This may include working in Special Needs Shelters and caring for clients, providing medical countermeasures via Points of Dispensing (POD) operations, and other health and medical response activities.
LOCATION OF POSITION: Location will be based on the needs of the county are in times of disaster.
QUALIFICATIONS: Current clear/active RN license in the state of Florida, or other medical or nursing license. Driver’s license required. Experience working with clients who require special needs or attention is preferred but not mandatory.
TRAINING: Background screening and training is required for all volunteers. MRC Volunteers will be trained on DOH services, policies, procedures, and on software to be utilized. Additional disaster preparedness training will also be required, including FEMA ICS 100 & 700.
