As our families grow together, so do our organization's needs! Many families come to our spaces to play and get creative, however we don't always have all the supplies we wish we had to make that happen. Help us facilitate a fun space by providing craft supplies for our Supervised Parenting spaces and our First Step Childcare Center!
Please note this is an indepedent project: you are responsible for purchasing/securing items, packaging them and delivering them.
You can use your own creativity and choose a craft project kit that includes all the materials to make something fun during a 1-2 hour visitation for our kiddos.
Craft ideas that were popular in the past include:
3-D models, paper flowers, tissue paper butterflies, popsicle stick tree/activities, kaleidoscopes, etc.
If you need more ideas on what kind of craft kits, please reach out and we can help you brainstorm!
You can package all the materials in individual kits including easy instructions
We need basic craft materials as well.
Things we are looking for include, but are not limited to:
- crayons
- washable markers
- craft paper
- safety scissors
- stickers
- sequins, beads
- washable glue
- coffee filters
- watercolor paints and paint brushes
- finger paints
- pipe cleaners
- etc.
Drop off at our main office and our staff will distribute to families throughout the community! FamilyWise is at 3036 University Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414 and open Monday through Friday 9am-5pm.

FamilyWise is a local nonprofit that helps our community’s most vulnerable children and families. Many of these families come to us with a history of poverty, domestic violence and homelessness. Your volunteering and financial support helps break this cycle of despair and gives them hope for a better future.
Our goal is to promote social change by strengthening families and the community through programs that:
- Educate parents on skills needed to lead stable lives and provide safe homes for their children.
- Empower families to achieve self-sufficiency and to advocate for themselves and their children.
- Enrich the lives of children, youth and families, enabling them to lead healthy, productive family lifestyles.
