Compassus Hospice

Bbl Robopnte No-Pycckn? Nam Nuzhni Voluntiri!

We are looking for Russian speaking volunteers or even volunteers that know a little Russian language and culture to spend time with our hospice patients.

Compassus Hospice is an organization in the area that provides hospice care to terminally ill patients.

We have hospice patients who are Russian in several areas in the Northeast Philadelphia. Volunteers provide companionship, socialization, and a comforting presence to patients with a terminal illness by playing music for them or holding their hands. As it can be isolating for a Russian speaking patient to be in a nursing home with other residents and staff that do not speak their language, a volunteer who can understand and talk with them is a big help! Volunteers can also provide emotional support to family members if present.

Most volunteer opportunities are at 7800 Bustleton Ave but we do have opportunities with home patients and patients in a nursing home at 650 Edison Ave in the Somerton section of Philly.

We offer full training to any new volunteer. As a volunteer you get to set your own schedule too!
