Get Involved! Donate Books For Children In Your Community! (Los Angeles, CA)

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: LINC Housing

Do you believe reading is one of the most important activities for children and teenagers to learn and grow?

Our non-profit, LINC Housing, is able to provide affordable housing communities with life-enhancing services for low-income families with children, seniors, and formerly homeless thanks to the impact of our volunteers. At our Lorena Apartments in Los Angeles, we provide a library with books that are enjoyable to read and that help with literacy for children and teenagers. As we look to redevelop our library, we are looking for a partner in the community who wants to make a difference, have a positive impact toward this population, and help our library grow!

What are we looking for?
We would like volunteers to set-up a book drive at your campus, workplace, business or center to collect donated children's, elementary, middle school, and high school books. Books should be new/gently-used!

  • Set-up a drive to collect donated books (You can label boxes for age groups)
  • English, Bilingual, Spanish books
  • Enjoyable to read and that improve literacy
  • We can provide a brief/simple flyer or create your own (To post or pass out)
  • Other items great for libraries (Kid-friendly rug, literary decorations, bookcase, small chairs)

When and Where?
  • Donations received by: April-May (Contact us when your drive is completed)
  • Donations will go to our Lorena Heights Apartments Community near Downtown L.A
