Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge is hosting a Spring Planting Event! We will be planting Bitter Brush shrubs on restoration areas on the refuge. The planting will include shoveling, loosening soil, and watering. More specific directions will be given on site.
As a volunteer, you should wear sturdy shoes, layered clothing, and a hat. If available, please bring gloves and a shovel. Some will be provided by the refuge.
Water and light snacks will be provided.

Description
Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge, founded by President Theodore Roosevelt on February 25, 1909, is one of the oldest refuges in the National Wildlife Refuge System (NWRS).
Managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the System preserves a network of lands and waters set aside for the conservation and management of the nation's fish, wildlife, and plant resources for the benefit of present and future generations.
