Provide companionship to hospice patience.
Anyone with a caring heart and a little time to share can become a hospice volunteer. Caris volunteers come from all walks of life and bring a wide variety of interests and experiences to support and comfort patients and their families.

Companionship activities can include:

• Walk or sit with patients to talk and listen.
• Read to patients.
• Enjoy a movie or tv program together.
• Listen to a patient's favorite music.
• Play card or board games.
• Write letters to patients.
• Be present for spiritual support, prayer and care.

Getting started is easy!

• No experience is necessary.
• Flexible scheduling.
• Ongoing training provided.
• Great opportunity for high school, or college community service hours.
• For the safety of our patients, all volunteers are subject to a background screening.

We Honor Veterans

To help Caris provide Hospice Care with Grace to our patients who are veterans, we enlist volunteers, many of whom are veterans themselves. Caris veteran volunteers continue to serve by making a difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones.
