Jack Kirby (August 28, 1917 - February 6, 1994) is an American comic book artist who helped create hundreds of original characters for comic book, comic strips and animation studios, including Captain America, the Incredible Hulk, and the Fantastic Four. The Jack Kirby Museum celebrates his work and influence on our culture.

The non-profit, The Jack Kirby Museum (www.kirbymuseum.org) is building a new Collections website to house the 12,000+ digital images. The site is for general appreciation of his art, for researcher and for museum members.

The museum is looking for a few volunteers to help in WordPress development including back- and front-end development.

Mission Statement

The Jack Kirby Museum and Research Center is organized exclusively for educational purposes; more specifically, to promote and encourage the study, understanding, preservation and appreciation of the work of Jack Kirby by: • illustrating the scope of Kirby’s multi-faceted career, • communicating the stories, inspirations and influences of Jack Kirby, • celebrating the life of Jack Kirby and his creations, and • building understanding of comicbooks and comicbook creators. To this end, the Museum will sponsor and otherwise support study, teaching, conferences, discussion groups, exhibitions, displays, publications and cinematic, theatrical or multimedia productions.

Description

The Jack Kirby Museum and Research Center is a virtual museum with our collections in storage in Hoboken, NJ. The Museum has three trustees who direct and maintain museum objectives, initiatives, physical collections and digital assets/collections. The museum attends several conventions in the U.S. and Europe and organize pop-up exhibitions in New York City.
