Community Based Mentoring
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (Pikes Peak)
El Paso County, Colorado
Community Based Mentoring: Volunteers are enrolled and matched with a child (ages 9 to 12) and choose enjoyable and enriching activities to spend time doing, based upon their mutual interests. Volunteers commit to a minimum of one year, spending time with the same child two to four times each month, being a positive influence and example. Big Brothers Big Sisters staff members support the volunteer mentors and their match relationship, providing support, assistance, advice, and counsel.
Volunteers...
- must be 21 years of age,
- have a valid drivers license and auto insurance,
- have a safe driving record,
- and be able to pass an extensive background check.
This is our traditional mentoring program, for which Big Brothers Big Sisters [of America, nationwide] is best known for.
Right now, Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak is in need of men to volunteer as mentors. We are in need of Big Brothers. Currently, we have several young kiddos enrolled as Little Brothers waiting to be matched with a Big Brother. These kids are in need of a positive influence in their lives. Please consider volunteering!
