We're looking for volunteers who want to help make the Danny Woo Community Garden a more safe and welcoming place for all by helping out with tasks related to maintaining the garden. Those tasks include laying down mulch on pathways to make them safe and prevent erosion, mulching under trees on the hillside to prevent erosion, picking weeds and feed them to chickens, and picking up trash.
75 elder gardeners depend on the garden for much of their produce and fresh food. For many of the gardeners, working in the garden provides them with a way to stay physically fit and socially active, both of which are essential for proper health.
By taking care of the garden and even just by being present in the garden, volunteers create a safe and welcoming space which makes it more likely for the gardeners and the community to use. More use of the garden means more health benefits and greater community connectivity.
