Help individuals with visual impairments feel confident cooking in the kitchen.
Example of responsibilities include: assisting students with food preparation, supervising that student is following recipe directions, helping instructor on other needs of the class.
Passion to help others and have fun is highly desirably. (NO PROFESSIONAL COOKING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!) Training will be provided on how to assist someone who is visually impaired.
Looking for volunteer who can volunteer 1x a week for 50 minutes from September 4th - December 14th
Mondays 1-1:50pm
Tuesdays 11-11:50am
Fridays 10-10:50am

Braille Institute offers a variety of services to people who are blind and visually impaired, from mobility and technology training, to low vision rehabilitation and home visits, to arts and exercise classes, to a vast library of braille and audio titles for every age, and more. Each year, we help tens of thousands of people regain and maintain their independence. Thanks to generous donations, Braille Institute services are available free of charge.
