Community Based Mentoring
Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak
El Paso County, Colorado
Volunteers are matched with a child (ages 9 to 12) and choose whatever mutually enjoyable activities in the community, based upon their own mutual interests. Volunteers commit to being a Big Brother or a Big Sister - being a positive influence and example to a child.
Volunteers commit to a minimum of one year, spending time with the same child two to four times each month. Big Brothers Big Sisters staff members support the mentors and the match relationship, offering suggestions, counsel, assistance and support.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and auto insurance, have a safe driving record, and be able to pass an extensive background check.
This is our traditional program for which Big Brothers Big Sisters [of America] is best and most known for.
Presently, Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak is in need of men to volunteer and enroll as Big Brothers. We have several Little Brothers enrolled with us waiting to be matched with a Big. Please consider volunteering today! Please spread the word!
