We started Disability Power Day to provide people with 1.) entry level self-advocacy concepts and 2.) provide people with a fun way to celebrate disability culture. This fun event takes place the 3rd Thursday and Friday of each month. Each month features different workshops and activities.
We need help!
- 9:30-10:15 - Volunteers will help with checking people in, setting up their name badges, and helping new people feel welcome.
- 10:15-11:30 - Volunteers will help facilitate conversation and engagement around that mornings session topic. Sessions typically feature small, table discussions in between large group share outs.
- 11-11:30 - Volunteers will help with plating food for lunch
- 11:30-12:00 - Volunteers will help serve lunch
- 12:00-12:30 - Volunteers will get to know others at Disability Power Day over a provided lunch!
