ORGANIZATION: LA WORKS RSVP

LAWORK_RSVP

The Institute for Criminal Justice Training Reform's mission is to save lives and reduce injury among the public and the police by reforming the deeply inadequate, antiquated, and flawed training models, policies, and procedures and legislative standards for employees in the United States' Criminal Justice System particularly those with the power to arrest, detain, commit and kill.

Beginning with in-depth research, our organization identifies needed changes to training in coordination with those communities who are impacted the most. Encouraging public engagement, we work in partnership with organizations and community leaders to promote safe, scientific, data-driven, and innovative changes to criminal justice training throughout the U.S.

Program Description: Overseeing volunteer management, information technology, project management, and administrative support. Works directly with Communications, Development, Community Impact Teams, Training & Standards and the Board of directors.

Mission Statement

Founded in 1991, our mission consists of three principal pillars: - INCREASE volunteer participation in community service projects; - PROVIDE our nonprofit partners with access to volunteer labor and other RESOURCES; and - EDUCATE and encourage people to engage in the broader social issues affecting the greater Los Angeles Community. The RSVP Program at L.A. Works is a federally funded program free to members, with the mission of mobilizing 55 and older volunteers for a large variety of projects with nonprofits all over Los Angeles. Consider us a one-stop-shop for finding different ways to volunteer and help smaller local nonprofits accomplish their missions.
