If you love helping seniors and live in the Nob Hill area (California Street, between Stockton and Powell), NEXT Village SF would love your help! Visit with a dear senior female and provide assistance with basic household tasks or a ride to the grocery store, once a week for an hour or two, and brighten her day with your presence. Providing undivided attention to a senior can boost their spirit and ease their mind. Spend a little time with this dear senior and you will make a big difference!
95% of us want to grow old in the comfort of our own home. NEXT's goal is to help the elderly in Northeast SF do just that! We also work to increase the member's well being by reducing social isolation and loneliness by hosting workshops, cultural events and outings. Some of our members have lived in their homes/apartments for 40 years-plus.
NEXT Volunteers help by: providing companionship, helping with technology, providing transportation to the grocery store, errands, medical appointments, or social events, leading a class or speaking about something interesting to a group.

Description
NEXT Village SF promotes better health, fosters an active lifestyle and fights social isolation among the large and growing 60+ demographic in northeast San Francisco. We know that better physical and mental health result from the increased community interaction and personalized support available to members of our Village.
With the help of volunteers, NEXT Village San Francisco provides a common sense, neighborhood-based approach for aging adults who want to remain in their own homes, promoting engagement, connection, and awareness.
