Purpose: Develop a special one-to-one, consistent relationship with a child by sharing interests, hobbies, and activities. To facilitate a child's development by providing a positive Jewish role model for the child to identify with.
May include any or all listed below:
- Meeting with youth per plan-usually two hours every other week.
- Communicate with Program Coordinator after each visit with youth.
- Attend update meetings with the family and program staff when needed.
Benefits: This is a special opportunity to share your interests and have fun with a child on a continuing basis. More important is the opportunity to have a significant, positive effect on the child through the friendship and guidance you can provide.

Description
Jewish Family and Children's Service is a multi-faceted social service agency serving adults, children, families, frail elderly, refugees, the disabled, the disadvantaged and the chronically mentally ill. Services are available to people regardless of race, religion, income or background. Our services extend to both the Jewish and general community.

- Must be at least 16
- A minimum of two hours, two times a month, plus phone contacts in between. Initial commitment of one year required.
- Must identify as Jewish. A fun, mature, well-adjusted teen or adult who takes an active interest in the welfare of children. Must be able to communicate well and establish a good rapport with youth. A non-judgmental attitude is imperative.
