Hand in Hand

We run an after school program that incorporates nutrition, exercise, homework and reading assistance at a local elementary school. We provide a safe place for the students where they can work on their homework, improve their reading skills, and they learn about nutrition and exercise. We don't tutor the students we problem solve with them.
We break up the students per grade. As a volunteer you will be assigned to a table of 6 students for that grade.
You will walk around the table and assist as needed. We would ask that you participate in the exercises with the students as they lean on the adults for motivation. We need both men and women.
The time frame is from 3:30 p-5:30p. Our program runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays through the school year. The minimum commitment is one day per week for the school year. Consistence is very important to the as they've had people close too them abandon them. As the children get to know you they look forward to seeing you!!! The kids would like to see you all three days, but we understand if that is too much.
