Program 2411PB-FG

Date: Thursday, April 12th
Time: 9:00 - 10:30 AM
Volunteer Role: Writing Coach

About the program: This first-grade special education class read Paulette Bogan 's Virgil and Owen Stick Together , about a penguin and polar bear who learn how compromise strengthens their friendship. Students identified a conflict, then created a skit about resolving it that uses "I statements" and techniques from the book, such as seeing things from another’s perspective. Coaches will guide them to ensure their work includes simple narration, dialogue, and a clear resolution.
