We are looking for volunteers to help identify information needed for an ongoing project in Panama!

Who is Planet Rehab:

Planet Rehab is dedicated to protecting the environment by nurturing the relationship between humanity and nature. To do that three goals have been identified: Environmental Education, Habitat Protection, and Species Propagation. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization much of the work is done by volunteers like you and we need more help!

What is the project:

Planet Rehab is embarking on our first International Mission - to help endangered species in Panama. We will not only protect rainforest and reforest as necessary, but create breeding programs for species at risk of extinction. We are looking at property on the Bocas del Toro Archipelago (northern Caribbean coast) about 30 miles S of Costa Rica. In addition to our protection/reforestation/species propagation program we will also create an educational eco-tourism experience for those wanting to learn about rainforest conservation. The facility will be completely self sustaining using natural solar from any power generation needs and fresh clean water. To help build the facilities we will offer expeditions wherein interested parties can come and stay with us, tour the area, and assist in the project.

In order to get this accomplished we need volunteers for a variety of things including:

Grants available to the organization?
Other potential funding?
What volunteer groups are available to help in Panama and what organizations in the US would be interested in Expeditions?
Which native species are most in need and what are their requirements?
What travel requirements are for any animals that will be brought to the site for education and breeding?
What other organizations are available near by that we can work with?
Locations for building materials near by for repairs and upgrades needed?
Are there restrictions to international purchasing?
And many more

Weekly rollups of any findings are appreciated and will be asked for to keep the project moving and better manage volunteer efforts.
