The Salvation Army New Jersey Divisional Headquarters is in search of a Social Media Volunteer to assist with the development of the social media strategy.
Position: Social Media Volunteer
Responsibilities: The role will heavily involve researching methods of engaging our current donors who have Facebook accounts, as well as looking for ways to engage with the 20 year-40 year age demographic. This volunteer opportunity is an excellent way to gain experience in various aspects of social media while working for a well-known nonprofit organization.
Working toward a college degree (60 college credits), preferably in a related field (Marketing/Communications, or Public Relations)
Firm grasp of available social media tools and applications
Confident in researching trending topics relevant to nonprofits and the 20-40 year old demographic
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
An effective communicator, both written and oral, able to articulate compelling narratives
Ability to communicate in a professional manner
Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
Enthusiasm for The Salvation Army’s mission
