DESCRIPTION

The ETIV Website and tech support position offers interns a fantastic opportunity to get hands on experience managing and further developing the ETIV do Brasil website, while living in the tropical paradise known as Itacare, Bahia. Knowledge about Search Engine Optimization and a time commitment of at least three months is required. In addition, all volunteers and interns must learn at least basic Portuguese to start, as most people in Bahia do not speak English. Portuguese audio lessons can be shared electronically after signing-up to volunteer and intern with the NGO.

The mission of ETIV do Brasil is to link international volunteers with local communities to support environmental conservation and development in Brazil. We give volunteers the option to stay at our Volunteer House and add on Portuguese and Capoeira classes to their experience. ETIV can also link volunteers to discounted eco-adventure tours to visit our rivers, islands, waterfalls, hiking trails and exotic beaches during their time here. Volunteers or interns that are willing and able to dedicate at least 6 months to the project in Brazil may apply for a grant with the NGO to have their volunteer contribution waved. This grant is only awarded to low income students, allowing those who otherwise not be able to afford it, all the benefits of volunteering with our NGO. This not only includes an incredible learning experience that will look fantastic on any resume, but we also offer all of our volunteers and interns life insurance, a tour of Itacaré, an induction to the NGO, training in the project, ongoing supervision and support and 24 hour emergency support. However, all interns must still pay the $67 administration fee to complete all the legal paperwork and everyone is responsible for covering their own food, travel and accommodations. Affordable rent is offered to all of our volunteers and interns at our ETIV volunteer house, that also doubles as our ETIV office.
