ETIV do Brasil is seeking fundraising and grant writing volunteers or interns to help us diversify our funding sources through a variety of methods. This can include planning and organizing local and/or online fundraising events, researching and applying for grants, and helping us to find private and business donors. You will receive support and training from our Fundraising Coordinator or from the director when a Coordinator is not available. Knowledge and experience with fundraising, grant writing and event organizing is highly desirable but not required. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience fundraising for a international NGO/Non profit that is making a positive difference on the coast of Bahia, Brazil.
Fundraising volunteers must dedicate at least 1 month's time commitment to the project
ETIV do Brasil is located in the beautiful fishing and surfing town of Itacare, in SouthEastern Bahia. Our mission is to connect international volunteers with local communities to support environmental conservation and development in Brazil. We also offer housing at our ETIV volunteer house as well as Portuguese and Capoeira classes. We can also link volunteers to discounted eco-adventure tours to the stunning beaches, islands and waterfalls in and around Itacare.
BENEFITSLow income volunteers and interns that are willing and able to dedicate at least 6 months time commitment to the project may apply for a grant with the NGO to have their volunteer contribution waved. This allows low income students to receive all the benefits of volunteering with our NGO (including life insurance, a tour of Itacare, an induction to the NGO, training in your project, ongoing supervision and support and 24 hour emergency support) completely free of charge. However, all volunteers and interns are responsible for covering their own food, travel and accommodation expenses. ETIV do Brasil does provide a volunteer house where volunteers and interns can live at a very affordable price.

Description
ETIV is deeply focused on youth development and environmental conservation in Brazil. As a result, one of our main goals is to develop a new generation of local youth leaders that actively care for each other, their community, the environment and all sentient beings. This is the main avenue by which we work to achieve our Mission and Vision (highlighted below).
Through all of our community projects, we encourage volunteers to teach and model some of the core values necessary to create and maintain healthy and prosperous communities. This includes mutual respect, cultural appreciation, caring for each other, speaking the truth, acting honestly and transparently, sharing and being generous (as opposed to stealing or taking things that don’t belong to you) and actively caring for the environment and all sentient beings.
