Earl Woods Scholar Program
In celebration of Tiger’s father, Earl Woods, and his lifelong dedication to helping young people achieve their dreams, TGR Foundation created the Earl Woods Scholar Program in 2006. Supporting high-potential students with demonstrated need and a commitment to community service, the Earl Woods Scholar Program goes far beyond financial assistance. Each Earl Woods Scholar also receives mentoring support, specialized internship opportunities, career development and enrichment workshops. Scholars are chosen from select U.S. cities and attend prestigious colleges and universities across the country such as Harvard, Georgetown, USC and UCLA.
Mentoring Program
The cornerstone of the Earl Woods Scholar Program is its mentor network. In addition to the financial assistance for tuition, books, travel home or winter clothing, each Earl Woods Scholar receives a dedicated mentor. These valuable relationships are life-changing for the scholars, many of whom are first-generation students with little or no practical guidance on college life and career planning.
Each Earl Woods Scholar is partnered with a dedicated mentor, who serves as an advocate, career coach, personal advisor and role model throughout their college experience. The mentors provide their scholar with advice and resources needed to help them succeed with their chosen degree and develop skills necessary for their professional career.

Description
Specific programs of the foundation include the TGR Learning Lab, a one-of-a-kind, 35,000-square-foot education facility custom-built for underserved youth within Southern California. Everything at the TGR Learning Lab is about active participation and hands-on learning. Scholars in grades 5-12 experience college-access programs focused on science, technology, engineering and math. Interactive classes - in subjects ranging from rocketry and marine biology to graphic design and coding - allow students to explore a future in almost any career and recognize the importance of attending college.
