ORGANIZATION: American Cancer Society

  • 7 people are interested

Match volunteer drivers to cancer patients needs for transportation to medical appointments. Done on a computer via email and by phone. Flexible hours for when it can be done. The rides are in the Cowlitz County area with some rides into Vancouver at times. We do have a auto match service that some drivers use. The Coordinator matches all un selected rides from the auto system and escalated rides. Can be taught the computer skills needed. Must have a reliable computer and internet. Takes just a few hours a week most of the time. This is a new program we are trying to bring to this area so will take awhile for it to get rides to be coordinated. We need a lead volunteer that is local to help manage the program. Please email me and then we can talk on the phone if you have questions. This may be a great position for someone that doesn't drive or is homebound but wants some social outlet. Could be great for a stay at home mom for when the kids are at school too.
