Historical docents provide guided tours of the Hovander House. They educate visitors about the history of the Hovander family, the house, and the farm at Hovander Homestead Park. It is a great way to make a difference in your community, learn about local history, and meet new people this summer. We provide an orientation and training for new and returning volunteers.
The Hovander House is open Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 1-4pm. Historical docents will chose at least one of those days to volunteer.
If you would like to join our team of historical docents, contact the Hovander Homestead Park Office at (360) 384-3444 or email Courtney, the Historical Docent Coordinator, at courtney.parksandrec@gmail.com
