Additional volunteers are needed for Bread for the City's Southeast Farmers Market on Friday, March 30th. Volunteers should arrive by 9:30 am to help with the separation, movement, and distribution of produce items.
Please let us know you're coming! Last minute volunteers are also invited to show up on the day of. (Ask for Sonya when you arrive.)
We appreciate your help! We certainly need you!
Event Schedule:
9:00 am to 9:30 am - Volunteers arrive and food arrives.
9:30 am to 10:30 am - Volunteers set up market and bag produce.
10:30 am to 11:30 am - Volunteers collect information and distribute food to community members.
11:30 am to Noon - Clean up and departure.

The mission of Bread for the City is to help Washington, DC residents living with low income to develop the power to determine the future of their own communities. We provide food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty. We seek justice through community organizing and public advocacy. We work to uproot racism, a major cause of poverty. We are committed to treating our clients with the dignity and respect that all people deserve.
Description
Bread for the City offers food and clothing, social services, legal counsel, and medical care at no cost to eligible clients. Anyone living in the District of Columbia who meets income guidelines and other program requirements (such as lack of health insurance) may be eligible for help at Bread for the City.
