Girls' Hip-Hop Dance Coach - New York

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

We are looking for an energetic and creative Hip-Hop dance coach to work with our new hip-hop dance team comprised of young ladies in grades 4-12. The candidate must have a love for girls who may be beginners and must have enough patience to lead them!

The team will eventually be trained in the majorette style of dance, but for now, we want them to be trained in solid hip-hop technique. Hip-hop majorette dancing is high-energy, synchronized, rhythmic dance moves that draw from ballet, jazz, modern dance, hip-hop and gymnastics.

Our NY Team will rehearse in the Midtown, Manhattan area (28th Street/7th Avenue). They practice for two or three Saturdays in a month from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Our next rehearsal is 4/28. We would love someone to start immediately.

Coaches who show us great dedication may become paid staff once the team grows. In the interim, there are a number of perks associated with the role. The team will be trained for parades, competitions, field shows, sporting events and television appearances, so the coach has to be someone who doesn't mind getting a little bit of attention.

Please let us know about your dance experience when you apply and your ability to work on 4/28. We would consider an extremely talented high school student who has an interest in training to be a coach and could use the experience for community service credit. Thanks!
