Pre-Event Packet Pick-Up [Wednesday, May 16; Location TBD]
Check-in volunteers will greet riders and assist with packet pick-up and general information. Attention to detail and a friendly smile are very important.

Pre-Event Set-Up [Friday, May 18]
Heavy lifters needed to assist Victory Ride staff with event site set-up on the NC State’s Centennial Campus. Tasks include setting up tables, chairs and barricades, hanging signage, dressing tables, and other aspects of site prep before Ride day.

Route Marking [Friday, May 18]
Work on the route marking team placing directional signage along all courses (Family Ride, 30, 60 and 100 miles). Must be able to drive an event minivan; valid driver’s license required. Some lifting involved, 20-30 lbs.


Bike Parking
Bike parking volunteers provide protection and organization of the participants’ bikes at the festival site.

Festival Pack-Up
At the conclusion of the event, assist with the breakdown of all Victory Ride elements on the Festival site. There may be some heavy lifting involved (35-50 lbs).

Festival Site Support
Festival volunteers make the magic happen throughout the festival area. They will provide support for and interact with riders, spectators, staff and vendors. Festival site support may require sitting, standing and lifting. Jobs include: food service, gear check, parking and traffic support, sponsor and mission tent support, start and finish line duties or assisting Family Ride participants along the 1-mile closed course.

Rider Check-In
Check-in volunteers will greet riders and assist with packet pick-up and general information. Attention to detail and a friendly smile are very important.

Volunteer Check-In
Assist with volunteer check-in and direct volunteers to their assigned locations. Register "walk-up" volunteers and assign them, as needed. May also serve as standby team that will respond to any of the festival site support areas that require assistance throughout the event day.


A two-person team follows behind the last rider in a vehicle for a designated course (Family Ride, 30, 60 or 100 miles) and picks up route signage from the course. Must be able to drive an event minivan and lift up to 25 lbs. Valid driver’s license required.

Rest Stops
Rest stop teams set up and run one of the six rest stops along the route, providing water, sports drinks and snacks to riders. Great opportunity for groups. Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs.

SAG Vehicles
SAG vehicle volunteers are two-person teams driving passenger vans who pick up riders experiencing fatigue or mechanical problems between rest stops. Both members in each SAG vehicle must be able to drive and get in and out of the van quickly. Must also be able to lift 20-30 lbs. Valid driver’s license required.

Route Safety
Route safety volunteers will be located along the route where riders need a reminder to slow down before a turn, to unclip from pedals before crossing a busy road or to provide traffic management at a busy rest stop.
