Mission Statement
Northwest Girlchoir transforms the lives of girls and young women through outstanding music education, dynamic choral performances, and an enduring community.
Description
Led by Artistic Director Sara Boos, Northwest Girlchoir is comprised of five auditioned choir levels: Fresca, Amabile, Vivace, Amore, and Ensemble and one non-auditioned Prep Choir; and serves over 250 girls, ages 6-18, from all over the Puget Sound region.
Choristers learn musicianship, vocal technique, performance skills, and participate in mainstage concerts, outreach events, and collaborations, touching thousands of audience members with their critically-acclaimed choral sound and artistry.
The auditioned choirs participate in regional, national, and international choral festivals and tours. Recent festival appearances include the Pacific International Children's Choir Festival in Eugene, Oregon, the American Masterpieces Choral Festival in Seattle, and Festival 500 in Newfoundland, Canada. In 2009, the Amore choir toured Eastern Australia and gave ten concerts. In 2010, the Vivace choir toured Hawaii and Amore toured Finland and Estonia.
